Colourful tribute

-

THE North East is set to be filled with bright colour as people pay tribute to inspirational Bradley Lowery. The brave six-year-old Sunderland mascot brought the football world together with his cheeky smile and determination in the face of deadly neuroblastoma. At Bradley’s funeral, streets are likely to be lined with people, and his family have invited those paying tribute to don strips from teams of every colour. And those who can’t make it to the memorial, near the family’s home in Blackhall Colliery, County Durham, are asked to honour Bradley in the same way and help raise money for other seriously ill youngsters. It comes in the spirt of the ‘cancer has no colours’ slogan synonymous with Bradley’s fight. A post on Bradley’s Facebook page said: “It has been suggested that if people can’t attend Bradley’s funeral on Friday that they have a dress down day at work and school and pay £1 towards the Bradley Lowery Foundation. “If you haven’t got a football top you could wear the colours of your favourite team.” Meanwhile, as countless tributes pour in, Bradley’s family have set up a dedicated online page for memorials. Overwhelmed by cards, they’ve asked that anyone who wants to pay their respects to the lad post their messages on that page. Already, thousands have used the page to speak of Bradley’s strength, his smile, and how he inspired them. A spokesperson for Bradley’s family said: “It means a lot to the family and it gives them great comfort knowing Bradley was loved by so many people.”
