WE PUT THE LODGE’S SOPHIE SIMNETT ON THE HOTSEAT

-

WHEN Disney Channel’s musical teen drama The Lodge burst onto screens last year it got the channel’s biggest ratings for a series premiere in four years.

It’s now back for a second season with Sophie Simnett (Skye) and the rest of the cast – plus Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh!

The first season followed 15-year-old Skye as she left the city to begin her new life in the country, following her mother’s death:

Was acting your dream?

I’VE always loved acting. I’ve been doing it professionally for four or five years now.

How did you get to play Skye?

IT took me nearly half a year to win this role! There were about four or five auditions to start, but then they started to do group calls. I remember sitting with this group of people at the final audition and making friends with everyone – I can’t believe we made it!”

How would you describe Skye…

SKYE has a very vibrant personality and her head is always one step ahead of her heart, which means she gets herself into a little trouble every now and then.

Friendship is a theme in the show. What are you like as a friend?

I’M known as the ‘secret keeper’ because people tell me their secrets and I’d never share them.

What do you do when you’re not working?

I LOVE sport. I play lacrosse, netball and tennis. I also really like photography and dogs. Oh, and eating.

Any other hobbies?

I LOVE to party! I love dancing about with my mates. I’m that really embarrassing friend who can’t really dance; who everyone laughs at, but I just go with it.

Why should we tune into The Lodge?

THIS show has everything. It’s got music, dance, action, romance and lots of mystery. THE Lodge is on the Disney Channel and DisneyLife, Fridays at 5.30pm
