Lisle a prize guy at league’s big night

THE Reay Security Blyth Darts League held its annual presentati­on night at the New Delaval and Newsham Workmen’s Social Club.

Chairman Brian Knox thanked sponsors Storage Equipment Safety Services and Victory Signs, both of Cramlingto­n, KD Roofing, Stephen Adams Carpet Fitter, local pubs and clubs within the league and especially Steven Reay of Reay Security for their ongoing sponsorshi­p and support throughout the year.

This season’s singles final was between Stevie Wanless of the Comrades Club and Christophe­r Lisle of Newsham Club, Lisle winning 3-1.

Julie Cardill then presented Lisle with the Singles Championsh­ip Cup and Crystal Bowl as well as a victor’s cheque.

Trophies were also presented to The Comrades for their league title, Rob Reay Cup, KD Roofing Cup and Stephen Adams Knockout Cup successes.

League runners-up and 1001 and Billy McKay Cup winners were the Percy, the Comrades 1001 runners-up.

KD Roofing Cup runner-ups were The Vic and Rob Reay Cup runners-up Newsham Club.

Alan Richardson of the Percy was named Sportsman of the Year.

The award for the highest finish of the season went to Christophe­r Lisle with a checkout of 164.

Most 180’s went to Chris Dobey of The Percy.

The doubles winners were Simon Glover and Stevie Cardill of The Seahorse.
