Climate petition is complete fraud

-

year, allowing us to continue providing our services to families across the North East. ANITA BALL, ST OSWALD’S HOSPICE, Gosforth, Newcastle THE ‘Oregon Petition’ has once again raised its ugly head in the debate about climate change.

This petition with 31,000 signatures – 9,000 with PhDs – is an attempt to undermine the consensus on man-made climate change. But it is a fraud.

Published in the 90s, it is decades out of date and lists only a handful of climatologists. Bizarrely, there are 10,000 engineers!

No sane person would allow their local garage mechanic to perform heart surgery on them, so why on earth should we believe trained engineers have the expertise to grasp climate change science?

Not only is it a logical fallacy that having a PhD means an individual is an expert in any subject, the petition has also been debunked by various NOW that i am eighty years of age i realise i am on my life’s final page like many before me and no doubt many to come i regret many things i have said many things i have done i just hope that i have made more people glad than sad have done more things good than i have done bad so i ask you please be kind to all others treat them all as though they were your sisters and brothers.

AW, GOSFORTH When end of day draws nigh My garden’s where I love to be, when sun sulks from the sky. The seagulls wind their weary way, woodpigeons sit and coo. Goldfinches from their trees still play, their chit-chat sweet and true. My blackbird takes his supper, from amongst the buttercups. The swifts are yet to mutter, as from my coffee cup I sup. My cigar smoke lingers briefly, then just gently drifts away. Such a total sense of peacefulness, to end this summer’s day. JAMES BRIDGEWOOD Wallsend
