NORTH Shields will host Marske United in an FA Cup preliminary round replay on Wednesday night after the two sides shared eight goals on Teesside, writes MARK CARRUTHERS.

Adam Wheatley’s last-minute equaliser snatched a replay for Marske after goals from Dan Wilson, Craig McFarlane and a Dean Holmes brace looked to have sent the Robins through.

Consett and Bishop Auckland will also meet again after Steelmen striker Michael Mackay’s second-half finish ensured the sides could not be separated in a 3-3 draw.

Heaton Stannington produced one of the shocks of the round as a Jonathan Wright spot kick sent them through against newlypromoted Division One side Team Northumbria.

A Liam Thear hat-trick ensured Dunston UTS beat Washington to set up a qualifying-round tie against Jarrow Roofing’s conquerers Barnoldswick Town.

A single strike from Stuart Banks sent Chester-le- Street Town out of the competition at the hands of Newton Aycliffe.

Ashington joint-manager Tom Wade (pictured) experienced highs in the FA Cup during his time with Blyth Spartans.

His new side made progress in the competition as Ben Harmison’s goal sent them through against league rivals Ryhope CW.

Oliver Leedham’s strike ensured Newcastle Benfield saw off a determined challenge from North Tyneside rivals West Allotment Celtic.

North Tyneside will be the setting for a midweek replay after Whitley Bay came away from Seaham Red Star with a battling 1-1 draw.

Jack Byerley gave the Bay the lead with a goal just after the half hour mark but the Wearside outfit secured a replay with a Liam McBryde goal just before half-time.

Sunderland RCA’s six-year wait for an FA Cup win is over at long last.

Goals from Colin Larkin, Nathan O’Neill and Stephen Callen ensured they saw off Garforth Town at Meadow Park with a 3-1 win.
