Defeating Greenside is the tops for Dale

TYNEDALE go marching on at the top of the Northumber­land and Tyneside Senior League’s Under-18 Division with another victory, this time at Greenside.

They batted first and made a very healthy 168-4 thanks to 48 from Dale Leadbitter and 51 not out from Euan Stephenson, Andrew Mawson claiming 2-36.

In reply, Greenside mustered just 48-5 as Edward Foreman returned 2-7 off his four overs.

Whickham reached 72-8 after been put into bat in their home game with Stocksfiel­d, the visitors chasing down the runs required for the loss of three wickets off 17.2 overs.

Lintz entertaine­d Blaydon and batted first, scoring 95 all out.

The visitors won the game easily by 10 wickets as they knocked off the runs without loss in 14 overs.

SUNDERLAND hosted Chesterle-Street in Division One of the Durham Cricket Board Under-18 League.

The visitors scored 110-6 off their allocated overs, Sunderland replying with 88-6.

South Shields entertaine­d Whitburn and the visitors decided to bat first, managing 46-0 off their allocated overs - Ben Markham 31 not out.

South Shields opener Borade then knocked off the winning runs, hitting 29 not out in a total of 47-1 in just 5.4 overs.

In Division Two, Burnmoor amassed 85-5 in their match against Philadelph­ia, Kristian Jefferson striking 31.

In reply, Phili posted 86-0, Greg Halliday with 46 and Lewis Carney 30 in an unbroken partnershi­p.

Langley Park travelled to Mainsforth in the South West Division and batted first, mustering a healthy 129-3 thanks to a brilliant 86 from Nathan Bushnell - Adam Thirlaway claiming 2-19.

Mainsforth batted well but came up short on 101-7, Lachlan Marron top-scoring with 24 and James Coxon returning figures of 2-15.

CHESTER-LE-STREET lifted the Fred Blunt Trophy with a 20-run win over Sacriston. The Cestrians registered 108-2 off their 15 overs, Luke Allen powering his way to 47.

That total proved enough for Chester as Sacriston could not reach the target, finishing on 88-7.

Aaradhya Tiwari celebrated three wickets for the winners and James Hindmarsh two.
