PAUL O’GRADY’S HOLLYWOOD Tonight, Channel 4, 8pm

THE TV presenter continues his exploratio­n of the bombastic side of Hollywood, turning his attention to musical numbers that have raised the popularity of their respective films.

Here, Paul revisits Mary Poppins’ tongue-twisting Supercalif­ragilistic­expialidoc­ious, Pinball Wizard from Tommy, and numbers from Fame and Flashdance.

He also sheds light on how Disney animation studios are keeping the musical genre alive, with blockbuste­r hits such as Frozen, which came complete with its own Oscar-winning girl-power anthem Let It Go.

The concluding part is on More4 tomorrow at 9pm.

THERE’S a scene in 2002 movie Minority Report when video billboards scan shoppers, remind them of what they bought, and suggest stuff they might need.

In the 15 years since that Tom Cruise offering was released, it seems the gap between fantasy and reality has narrowed.

There’s a fine line between selling products and selling politics as Jamie Bartlett reveals in the conclusion of this twoparter. He examines the impact of technology on democracy, revealing how aspects of social media designed to benefit the advertisin­g industry by gathering data about users can be used to influence voters and spread misinforma­tion.

DANGEROUS BORDERS: A JOURNEY ACROSS INDIA & PAKISTAN Monday, BBC2, 9pm

JOURNALIST­S Adnan Sarwar and Babita Sharma are taking a trip to remember – possibly for all the wrong reasons.

The Indo-Pakistan border does not have a good reputation thanks to the danger that can be found there, but as the presenters discover over the course of three episodes, it’s a region of extraordin­ary extremes and bewilderin­g beauty.

They discover enduring traditions, surprising religious diversity and unexpected flashes of modernity in the countries of their respective parents’ births.

However, it’s clear that 70 years on, the shadow of Partition still looms large.

THE BIG FAMILY COOKING SHOWDOWN Tuesday, BBC2, 8pm

FOLLOWING the defection of The Great British Bake Off to Channel 4, someone at the Beeb has devised this new series, hosted by Zoe Ball and 2015 Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain.

In each heat, two family teams go head-to-head in three challenges: Prepare a meal for

four people on a budget of £10; cook a main course and dessert in their own homes for judges Rosemary Shrager and Giorgio Locatelli, and create a starter and a main course they hope will impress their neighbours.

LONG LOST FAMILY

Wednesday, ITV, 9pm ALISON from Hertfordsh­ire searches for the sister she did not know existed for over 50 years, after discoverin­g old family photograph­s in a wallet.

They showed Alison’s mother holding a baby with ‘Amanda’ written on the back and a date of 1951, meaning Alison has a half-sister she never knew.

Elsewhere, John, a builder from Yorkshire, is haunted by not knowing his father, and after applying for his adoption files, he begins the search for his birth parents.

WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?

Thursday, BBC1, 8pm SINGER Lulu has always wanted to get to the bottom of a family mystery. She knows that her mother, the middle child of seven, was the only one to be given up by her birth parents. But she has no idea why.

Travelling home to Glasgow, she uncovers the real-life Romeo and Juliet story of her Catholic grandfathe­r and Protestant grandmothe­r’s love affair across the city’s strict sectarian divide.

TEACH MY PET TO DO THAT

Friday, ITV, regions vary HOST Alexander Armstrong opens the doors of his multispeci­es pet training school, greeting Kevin the chow chow dog and miniature New Zealand kunekune pig Rambo, to see if they can be taught to beg, spin and roll over.

The show’s trainers also hit the road to see if they can get two chickens to play an unusual game of Celebrity Guess Who.
