How neighbours got Gallon chucked out
BRAVE GRANDMA STOOD UP TO ‘CHUCKY’
THE only woman convicted in the Newcastle sordid sex gang scandal became the centre of a campaign to have her evicted from her flat after neighbours wanted her out.
Carolann Gallon, 22, known by her nickname of “Chucky” played a vital role in the gang’s targeting of victims.
But despite her admitted involvement in sexual exploitation, Gallon remained on bail – hosting parties for Asian men in a block of flats containing young families.
And it took a feisty 63-year-old grandmother to lead the fight amongst residents as they battled to get her to toe the line.
Gallon was in court as far back as 2015, with anxious neighbours aware of her offences.
And fed up residents in the maisonettes in Newburn, in the west of Newcastle, told how they desperately appealed to their local authority landlords to have her removed.
They cited noisy parties in which Asian men were invited back to her first floor flat.
One mother was horrified when one of the men tried to strike up a conversation with her young son, knowing the role Gallon had played in the sex gang.
She has admitted three counts of trafficking girls for sexual exploitation, offences committed between 2011 and 2014.
However, one neighbour said Gallon had packed her bags two weeks ago and has not seen her at her home since.
The 63-year-old disabled resident who stood up to Gallon has told how she encouraged others to complain, which led her to be taken to court for antisocial behaviour.
The brave grandmother said: “She was having parties with different Asian men, they were fighting and making loud noise. It was horrible living underneath it.
“She is a horrible piece of work. She arrived here about three years ago and I have been telling them
