We’re on the move!

NCJMEDIA is set to move to new offices after 52 years in Newcastle’s Groat Market.

The organisation, which is responsible for producing The Chronicle, ChronicleLive, The Journal and The Sunday Sun, is set to move to new premises in Eldon Square in early 2018.

The move ensures that the organisation will remain in the heart of Newcastle City Centre, where it has been based since The Journal was first published in 1832 by Hernaman and Perring on Pilgrim Street.

For the past 52 years, the organisation has been based atThomson House in the Groat Market.

A booklet produced to mark that move said Thomson House would house newsrooms where “the news of the North and of the whole world pours in night and day”.

News does still pour into Thomson House night and day, and will continue to do so in our new home. Through three newspapers and ChronicleLive we tell the stories that matter to the people of the North East every single day, and will continue to do so for years to come in the Eldon Square offices. Managing director for Trinity Mirror North East, Robert Cuffe, said: “This is a fantastic move for our business, locating us right in the heart of the city and in an iconic location. “Having been part of North East life since 1832, when The Journal was first published, this move is a hugely positive development, keeping us right at the heart of our region. “Pleasingly, colleagues are delighted by the news, and we look forward to moving into our new premises with great excitement.” MD Robert Cuffe
