Last season’s Second Division champions Killingworth YPC eased to victory at Forest Hall.

At Seaton Burn the game was all but over at the interval.

YPC continued where they left off last season as goals from Connor Lamb, Martin Roper and Colin White gave them all three points at Forest Hall.

New Fordley opened with a 3-0 success at home to Felling Magpies as Lee Waugh, Kieran Pyle and Alex Henderson netted.

Both Wallsend sides claimed three points on the road.

The Boys Club prevailed 3-0 at Red Row Welfare and Community triumphed by the same score at Monkseaton, Kane Churnside among their marksmen.

Cullercoats opened the new campaign with a 3-1 result at home to Hebburn Reyrolle.

Hexham defeated Gosforth Bohemians 4-2 - Kurtis Harvey scored twice for the victors along with strikes from Callum Duncan and Tony Lancaster, replies from the Bohs courtesy of Dan Ure and Dan Robinson. ■■BIRTLEY Town have kicked off the new Northern Alliance League season with a complete new look behind the scenes.

All of the club’s old committee, with the exception of Bob Hunter, have departed to be replaced by a new team of officials led by chairman Richie Barrett, secretary Colin Beat and commercial manager Paul Hay.

Hay has already made great strides in attracting local sponsorship, including from Motorpoint and We-Barrow-4you.

Beat said: “We are trying to re-brand the club and give it more of a community feel which has been lacking in recent years.”

The club has also renamed a stand and its clubhouse in honour of two former club stalwarts Andy Foster and Ian Wadge.
