they were on a recent visit to the MetroCentre. The average cost of a plant at the moment is so very low it wouldn’t take much to do this.

NIGEL BODDY (former corporation gardener) NOW that the summer holidays are here, parents (and grandparents) everywhere are hunting out activities to keep the children occupied – me included!

Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity has launched a fun, simple, summer activity called the Summertime Picnic.

The idea is straightforward host a picnic and ask friends and family to make a donation to Rainbow Trust. It can be a picnic in the garden, the park or even inside on a carpet, weather depending.

The Summertime Picnic is about enjoying quality time with your family and Rainbow Trust understands just how precious time can be as we support families who have a child with a life threatening or terminal illness. We match SMILING is infectious and good for the soul Sitting right up there in the ‘Happy Zone’ Smiling has powers always gets what its wants So hard to say no to and keeps out the rot Working its ‘magic’ it just never fails Passing it on to the next one for our own Personal gain Smiling’s a tonic it’s just what we need No demons in sight and well free of disease. S DRISCOLL, Benwell I DERIVE my intoxication from Not doing things rather than doing families with a Family Support Worker who provides emotional and practical support amid the chaos of medicines, hospitals and endless appointments.

Rainbow Trust has a free online ‘Picnic Pack’ as well as them I expect that you’ll probably think I’m wrong But hear my story before you condemn My life was one long song of murky mayhem Sex, drugs, rock and roll and more more more One night I had a dream of Bethlehem I am forbidden so say what I saw But I woke from it wiser than before We already have wonder in our brain While indulgence may give a glimpse of awe The comedown is an agonising pain After just a few weeks of self control You start to learn the secrets of the soul.
