Seven-up Town kick off with a big victory

BLYTH Town Sunday kicked off their Premier Division campaign with a 7-0 win at Cramlingto­n Green.

Robert Ridley led the scoring with a hat-trick.

Further goals came from Danny Wilson, Martyn Hepple, Chris McCartney and Peter Roberts.

Bedlington Social Club Unitedwent down 3-2 to East Chevington.

Josh Monaghan and Jamie Thompson scored for the Bedlington side, counters for Chevington from Darren Smith (2) and Kevin Bell.

Earsdon Red Lion roared to a 4-2 home victory against promoted side Whitehouse Ashington.

Mathew Newman (2), Mitch Renney and Adam Tierney were on target for the Lion, for the Whitehouse Michael Freathy and Richard Hall.

Marden Residents went down 5-3 at home against champions Ashington RAOB.

Chris Ridgeway claimed all Marden’s goals, Lee Scott with a hat-trick for the Buffs added to by strikes from Jason Riches and Chris Willis.

Top of the table after one game are the High Street after they triumphed 11-0 at home against Guidepost Shakespear­e Tavern.

On the mark for Street were hattrick heroes Anthony Goldie, Alan Goldie and Brandon Nadeem, Duane Dun and Dean Fitch adding the others.

Ashington Sporting Club lost 2-1 at home to Ellington Plough.

Cal Mullighan struck for the Sporting Club, Luke Scott with both counters for the Plough.

Bebside Inn were edged out 4-3 by new boys Bedlington FC Sunday.

On target for Bebside were Ryan McKee (2) and Martin Robinson, for Bedlington Adam McLennen (2), Tommy Wilkinson and Michael Grieves.

Another new team Newbiggin New Ship sailed through 4-2 at home against Newsham Victory. MacCauley Burt (2), Robert Holden and Lee Warren hit the mark, Connor Vincent and Dean Linney converting for the Vic.

North Blyth Bar went down 5-2 to Morpeth Conservati­ver Club.

Harry Blackburn and Alan Fairbairn struck for Bar. Efforts for the Morpeth side came from James Jackson (3) and Josh Laviewrs (2).

THE draw has been made for the first round of the Blyth and Wansbeck Sunday League’s S A Randolph Cup.

Ties are: Whitehouse Ashington v Amble Tavern, East Chevington Sports and Social v Earsdon Red Lion and Bedlington Social Club United v Cramlingto­n Green.
