Striker should give Toon Army hope that he can make impact

Madrid, Joselu added: “The experience was so nice. I made my debut in the first division under Jose Mourinho.

“I was 18/19, and I don’t even know how to explain to you the emotion making my debut in the Bernabeu.

“The experience helped me as a professional player now. I scored three times for Real Madrid and it was amazing.

“The experience when you travel with the first team, two times in pre-season in LA and the fans screaming, it was amazing.

“But it’s Real Madrid, one of the best teams in the world and after that I tried to be a better reacted in kind on social media.

David McNair tweeted: “Happy with Joselu, seems like a decent option for a low fee too. Be interesting to see whether he’s first choice or not.”

Jack Lowes added: “Fingers crossed for this fella, hope he bags goals for fun.”

‘True NUFC’ said: “Not seen much of him but a few Stoke fans on here seem to be unhappy about professional.”

His move to the Premier League also means he has now played in three of the top divisions in Europe.

Having played for Real Madrid in La Liga a couple of times, he also went on to appear in the Bundesliga for Hoffenheim, Eintracht Frankfurt and Hannover 96.

He added: “I played my first year in Spain, I played three years in Germany and then came to the Premier League.

“The three leagues are very different, but it was a good experience and I definitely think the Premier League is the best league.

“I’m happy to be part of that.” selling him. I’m happy with this one!”

Jack hopes there will be more signings to come, as he said: “I’ll be right behind the lad, but we’re still desperate for a few more.”

However, Ken Gray is not impressed by the move, as he said: “Just what we needed. Another flop, great business by Mike Ashley!”

The reaction of Stoke City fans will give the Toon Army hope that the new signing can make an impact at St James’ Park.

Stoke fan Ben tweeted: “You’ve got yourself a player here!

“Will come back to haunt us this transfer! Good luck Joselu!”

Gareth Robinson said: “Four (goals) in two and we let you go. All the best Joselu.

Another Stoke fan tweeted: “Been frustrating for the fans to see him go out on loan last season, and then perform well in preseason and not get a chance. Good potential.”

Sara Simpson added: “Wishing the man well.

“Maybe he’ll get more opportunity at his new club. He wasn’t given a fair chance at Stoke.”

Kevin Degg agreed, adding: “He wasn’t given a fair chance.” NEWCASTLE United have completed the signing of Joselu from Stoke City for a fee of £5million.

Joselu has signed a three-year deal with the Magpies and Rafa Benitez has taken another step to completing his squad this summer.

The striker’s arrival is United’s sixth summer signing and follows on from Christian Atsu, Mikel Merino, Florian Lejuene, Javier Manquillo and Jacob Murphy.

Benitez was pleased with the capture, saying: “We have known Joselu since his days at the Real Madrid academy, and we know that he has the potential to do well for us.

“Obviously he has experience of English football and the Premier League, and that was another thing we took into consideration.

“We think if we can exploit his full potential he will be a good signing for us.

“He knows and accepts the challenge we’ve given him at Newcastle United, and he’s keen to come and fight for a position in the team.”

Benitez will now focus on tying up a loan deal for Chelsea’s leftsided player Kenedy, with talks for the player still ongoing despite a surprise appearance on the bench for the Brazilian youth international last weekend during the Blues’ loss to Burnley.

It is believed that Kenedy’s promotion to the first-team scene is largely down to politics at Stamford Bridge as Antonio Conte tries to demonstrate his lack of options to his board of directors.

Benitez wants to see the Kenedy deal done in the coming days but is also still keen on signing a goalkeeper.

West Ham’s Adrian is on the wanted list, but purchasing a goalkeeper has been complicated by the Tim Krul situation at Benton.

Benitez has been told he can only bring in a keeper once Krul has left the club.

Krul , who has been linked with Benfica and Crystal Palace recently, told United he wanted to stay on Tyneside and is in no hurry to leave the club.
