BLACKHALL Mill and Chopwell started their Division One title defence with a win as they edged South Moor Sports in a nine-goal clash.
Strikes from Arron Fletcher, Karl Smith, Derek Waters, Niki Shepherd and Craig Willis took them to the slender 5-4 triumph, a Jamie Leathard hat-trick and a single effort from Michael Gray consolation for Moor.
Consett Scotch Arms made it two wins from two as they defeated Burnopfield Hobson Golf 9-3, Andrew Rennoldson leading the way with four goals.
Lewis Teasdale and Andrew Wade both hit doubles, while Adam Knowles also netted, with Stephen Kirkbride, Michael Allan and Keiron Gohery registering for Hobson.
Consett Demi started their campaign with three points as goals from Peter Coulter and John Paul Devanney earned them a 2-1 victory over Castleside Horse and Groom, who had Dan Murray on target.
Strikes from Dan Maddison and Liam Davison enabled Oxhill Central to beat Winlaton Highlander 2-0 in a clash involving two promoted teams.
A Jack Newton strike earned Lanchester Cricket Club all three points in Division Two.
