GRAND DESIGNS Wednesday, Channel 4, 9pm
THE latest run sees a couple embark on a venture that’s even more of a gamble than usual.
Ex-RAF pilot Jon and GP Gill Flewers are returning to the UK after four years in New Zealand.
They’ve bought a plot on the slopes of the Malvern hills in Worcestershire, without visiting it first. They plan to build a three-storey ‘upside down’ house, clad in wood and stone, but the site is so steep that builders are reluctant to take on the job, so Jon quits work to run the project himself.
SAFE HOUSE Thursday, ITV, 9pm
IN 2015, Christopher Eccleston and Marsha Thomason played a married couple who turned their home into a safe house, enabling them to shelter a family forced to go on the run.
It was a self-contained story, but ITV liked the format so much that they’ve brought it back. Stephen Moyer and Zoe Tapper take the lead roles, but play different characters.
Moyer is ex-police officer Tom Brook, while Tapper is his partner Sam, and together they run a safe house situated on Anglesey’s rugged coastline.
Tom is dogged by ‘the one who got away’, a serial kidnapper known as The Crow.
When, after years of silence, the villain appears to be up to his old tricks again, Tom becomes obsessed with bringing him to justice.
