EBAC NORTHERN LEAGUE

- By MARK CARRUTHERS

RYHOPE CW made it four wins from five in Northern League Division One this season with a 2-0 home win over an injury-ravaged Jarrow Roofing.

They had to wait until the secondhalf to take the lead, as Joe Melvin capitalised on a defensive slip to put his side ahead.

Corey Nicholson doubled his side’s lead with a goal just after the hour mark and that was enough for Ryhope to bounce back from Saturday’s derby defeat against Sunderland RCA.

Washington were denied their first win of the season by a late equaliser from Seaham Red Star’s Liam McBryde.

Jordan Jewson gave the Mechanics a third-minute lead with a stunning long-range strike.

They held on to that lead until three minutes from full-time, as McBryde was on hand to tap home from close range to earn his side a point.

In Division Two, Lewis Teasdale had a dream debut for Tow Law Town, just hours after completing a move from Consett,

Teasdale struck a first-half hat-trick as they Lawyers ran out 6-1 winners against Willington at Ironworks Road.

Kai Hewitson struck a brace and Ben Collinson grabbed a goal eight minutes from time.

Evan Graham grabbed a consolation for Willington, who were reduced to 10 men when Michael Brown was sent off 10 minutes from time.

That win meant that Tow Law move to the top of Division Two, at the expense of Northallerton Town on goal difference.

Chester-le-Street Town and Durham City had to settle for a share of the points with a 1-1 draw at Moor Park.

Ben Joyeux put the visitors ahead just after half-time but Daniel Maddison’s seventy-eighth minute strike secured a point for the Cestrians.

In the Wearside League, Hebburn Town Reserves were 6-0 winners against Windscale.

Ewan Simpson and Joe Warren both scored twice as the Hornets moved up to second place in the table. EVO-STIK NORTH FA CUP FIRST QUALIFYING ROUND NORTHERN LEAGUE DIVISION ONE
