Where there’s a Winn there’s a way to put a smile on a child’s face :)

WORKERS from Winn Solicitors will be pounding the pavement in the Great North Run for a charity close to their hearts.

The team are taking part in the half-marathon in aid of the Sunshine Fund, which raises money to buy specialist equipment for disabled children.

This is the third year Winn’s will be running for the fund and five members of staff are tackling this year’s challenge on Sunday.

Money raised by Winn’s runners in the 13.1 mile race will go directly to helping North East children in need of equipment to change their lives for the better.

Manny Thandi, a legal clerk at the firm, is taking on the Great North Run for the first time this year for the worthy cause.

She said: “This will be my first time doing the Great North Run. I’m really excited to be taking part as it’s something I’ve always wanted to do, and the Sunshine Fund is such a great charity to be running for.”

Amy Thompson, digital marketing manager for Winn Solicitors, added: “The Great North Run is such a big event for the region that it’s great to be able to get involved and help to support such a great charity at the same time.

“The Sunshine Fund does amazing work that really makes a difference and we’re proud to be sponsoring their team for the third year in a row.”

Lauren Thompson, community fundraiser for the Sunshine Fund, said: “Thank you so much to Winn’s once again for sponsoring our GNR vests. We wish the Winn’s team and all of our runners the best of luck on Sunday; you are all amazing and we can’t wait to see you at the end of the run in our marquee for a well-deserved cup of tea, biscuit and massage.”
