BLYTH Town Sunday had little trouble reaching round two of the George Davison Cup.

They secured an 8-0 home win against Bebside Inn.

Robert Ridley led the scoring with a hat-trick, Sunday’s other goals from Daniel Carr, James Woodhouse, Jack Patterson, Kevin Long and Mark Rylatt.

Ellington Plough went down 3-2 after extra time against visitors Cramlingto­n Green.

North Blyth Bar found the Whitehouse much too good as they lost 10-1.

Andrew Bell notched for the Blyth Bar, Jordan Lashley (5), Robert Watt (2), Ryan Wilson, Michael Angus and Stephen Key on target for Whitehouse. In round two, Ashington Station Lounge went down at home 5-2 against Newsham Victory.

Daniel Donnelly and Chad Miller struck for the Lounge, strikes for the Vic from Craig Frazer (2), Connor Vincent, David Lillico and Jeff Fuller.

Marden Residents crashed 6-3 against East Chevington.

Marc Hunter, Chris Ridgeway and Matty Dawson scored for the Residents, Kevin Bell (5) and Jack Small for Chevington.

In the Premier Division, Ashington RAOB prevailed 2-1 at home against Amble Tavern.

Kyle Downey and Lee Scott scored for the Buffs, Amble - in NFA Sunday Cup action on Sunday replying courtesy of an own goal.
