SHILDON moved back into the top five of the Northern League Division One table with a 2-0 win against Sunderland RCA at Dean Street.

Billy Greulich-Smith gave the Railwaymen an 18th-minute lead and Anthony Peacock doubled the lead shortly before half-time and put his side in control of the game.

Shildon added a third goal in the second-half as new signing Martyn Coleman grabbed his first goal for the club.

The former Penrith man had only been a Shildon player for a few hours when he produced a stunning strike to put the seal on a fine win for Daniel Moore’s side.

Marske United remain unbeaten away from home this season after a comprehensive 3-0 win at Stockton Town.

Mikey Roberts put the visitors ahead in the 10th minute with his first goal for the club.

The former Whitby Town striker rounded off a neat passing move with a clever finish with the outside of his right foot.

Stockton thought they had equalised just after the halfhour mark, but Sonni Coleman’s celebrations were cut short by an offside flag.

Roberts doubled the lead on 66 minutes and Glen Butterworth added a third goal five minutes later.

Billingham Synthonia are still looking for a first league win of the season after their 2-2 draw with Newcastle Benfield.

Jordan Jewson gave Synners the lead, his tricky run into the area gave him some space and he lashed a shot past Andrew Grainger.

The hosts took their lead into half-time, although it was shortlived as Oli Leedham put the visitors back on level-terms early in the second-half.

Jewson scored his second of the night on 68 minutes, but Synners’ hopes of a first win were dashed when Benfield club captain Mark Turnbull secured his side a point with a goal seven minutes from time.
