Not lovely for Jubilee as Shields fight back

NORTH Shields Community Church drew 3-3 with visitors Jubilee Church Teesside in the Premer Division.

Jubilee opened the scoring when Baz Mohammed slotted the ball home.

Anthony Pirson made it 2-0 on the 40-minute mark but before the break Daniel Bland hit back for North Shields.

John Cooper took Jubilee to 3-1, Conor Higgins halving the deficit.

Jubilee looked like seeing the game out but, moments before the referee put his whistle to his mouth, Dwayne Murray rose above the Teessiders’ defence to score from a cross and give North Shields a point.

In Division One, Hillsong Newcastle took on Heaton Saints knowing a win would see them jump from third to the top of the pile.

A nervy start from Hillsong saw Heaton go ahead through Carl Thompson - but this seemed to wake Hillsong up and two minutes later Amin Kashy equalised.

Dale Stones and Kashy’s second then put Hillsong 3-1 ahead after three-quarters of the match.

Paul Armstrong scored to keep Heaton in touch at 3-2 - but in the last 10 minutes Kashy completed his hat -trick.

Morpeth Mighty Oaks travelled south to play City of God Church Walker.

After a tough first half the deadlock was broken in the 44th minute when Samuel Olaleye gave the home side a 1-0 advantage.

Midway through the second period the same player nabbed his second and in the 89th minute Cyril Egwu put the game to bed with City of God’s third.

In Group A of the Andy Walker Trophy Praise Christian Church Internatio­na hosted Jesmond Parish Church.

Romero Munhupedzi gave Praise a 1-0 lead after six minutes - but by the time they netted their second courtesy of the same player in the 53rd minute Jesmond were winning 5-1!

Ben Fothergill grabbed Jesmond’s first, then Conor Hawthorn netted four goals in 11 minutes.

At 5-2 the floodgates opened as Jesmond made it 6-2 through Mark Ridyard, then four goals in nine minutes from Tom Watson, Matt Denby, Sam Gains and Anthony Henderson clinched an emphatic 10-2 success.

Consett Saint Patrick’s and Stockton Churches Portrack did battle in Group B - and it was Consett manager Peter Price who notched after just 30 seconds.

Stockton levelled in the 81st minute through Rob Heyler.

The result sees Consett Saint Patrick’s winning the group on goal difference to move into the competitio­n’s quarter- finals.
