Fact checking Mrs May’s claims

-

CAN you remember a time when things were so calm, When the sea was as still as a sock on the floor, The city as quiet as an abandoned farm, The evening knocking like the sandman at the door? Can you, can you still recall how it was before, To sleep all night like a young child and wake in peace, To walk the day in happiness with no uproar Likely to disturb the lasting joy? No MRS May is now offering to save students just under £1 a day as an alternative to Mr Corbyn’s plan to abolish future student fees.

If ever proof was needed that if you told a lie often enough it would be believed it is the fact that on several political programmes - Question Time, The Daily and Sunday Politics, political commentators, Liberal Democrat and Conservative police Were needed in that land, to order you to cease Doing whatever felt right and good, but somehow Destiny brought you to this life of wind and rain, Of trouble, noise and duties that never decrease. They say that everything passes, and the prayer is now That before long we’ll find that peace of mind again. ANDREW TAIT, Jesmond politicians including Prime Minister Theresa May on the Andrew Marr show Oct 1 – have accused Jeremy Corbyn of breaking his promise to abolish historic student tuition fees.

I pointed out in a previous letter that he never made such a promise and it’s obvious that the right-wing media distorted what he said.

It’s easy enough to go online and check on exactly what he did say if anyone has any doubt. AW, Gosforth
