CONSETT Saint Patrick’s claimed a 3-1 win over Sunderland Samba in the Premier Division.

However, as half-time approached, the Saints fought back to level terms thanks to Shaun Dodds.

After the break both teams had chances. However, just as a draw looked certain, Rob Lavery popped up in the 89th minute to give Consett what looked like a 2-1 victory.

Adam McVickers then netted in added-on time to seal the points for the Saints.

In Division One, Heaton Saints played Hope Church Sunderland, and it was Jay Gray who got Hope Church off the mark after 20 minutes.

Fifteen minutes later the match was all square as Matthew Sizer nabbed the equaliser.

Phil Russell fired Heaton back in front but they were unable to sustain the lead and on 75 minutes Adam Henshall netted for 2-2.

In The Durham Minor Cup, Stockton Churches Portrack lost 5-1 at Bowes of the Crook and District’s Division One.
