By Georgia, late leveller stuns Blyth

-

BLYTH and Cramlington are still searching for their first wins of the season - but they did manage to end their run of successive defeats after their 2-2 draw.

The derby match was only two minutes old when Amber Witson put hosts Cramlington ahead, latching on to a Gemma Laurie through ball.

They dominated play but were wasteful in front of goal and were punished with literally the last kick of the half, Rebecca Pears with the Blyth equaliser.

A more even second period saw the basement battle reach a dramatic conclusion.

Blyth thought they were heading for their first victory of the season when a late penalty was converted by Chloe Biggs.

However, with the seconds ticking down, Emma Graham found substitute Georgia Lyall who made no mistake - her equaliser enabling both sides to register their first point of the campaign.

Boldon CA Villa won a hardfought battle at Prudhoe Town.

Prudhoe’s Catherine Johnston hit a hat-trick, Elizabeth Thompson-Clarke doing likewise.

The decisive goal by Kayleigh Rogers kept the South Tyneside outfit three points adrift of Boro Rangers at the top.

York RI kept their 100% record, but ended Consett’s in the process, with a 4-2 home victory.

Consett’s Jodie Simpson put through her own net after seven minutes but her team was level three minutes later when Nicole McEvoy netted.

A Stephanie Curry penalty made it 2-1 but the hosts fought back, Tehillah Ndhlovu bagging a brace and Jodie Longstaff then securing the points.

Larissa Burkinshaw was on target five times for league leaders Boro Rangers in their 12-0 home romp over Guisborough.

One match in the Premier Division saw Wallsend BCL maintain their 100% record, triumphing 6-1 at Castleford.

Samantha Deverdics found the net four times with a Brittany Davison brace keeping BCL among the early pacesetters.
