BEST OF THE REST

-

COLD FEET ITV, 9pm

AFTER the predictable moment of passion between Adam (James Nesbitt) and work colleague Sarah (Amy Huberman), Adam is wracked with guilt.

It doesn’t help that he and Tina (Leanne Best) are approaching their first anniversary and she is trying to get pregnant.

There’s an awkward moment between Adam and Sarah when she complains: “It’s like we’re avoiding each other.” She wants everything to go back to normal – highly unlikely with their chemistry threatening to throw them into a passionate clinch at any moment.

Meanwhile, Jen (Fay Ripley) thinks she and the slovenly Pete (John Thomson) are stagnating – watch out for her fantasy appearance on Dragons’ Den.

And everything comes crashing to a head at an exceedingly awkard joint 50th birthday dinner for Adam and Pete, with various things happening to possibly split up the whole gang for good. Never was there a more lacklustre rendition of Happy Birthday.

DEATH IN PARADISE ALIBI, 8pm and 9pm

AS if there wasn’t enough drama over in the soaps, here is a double dose of murder for your Friday night viewing pleasure. Although there’s comedy too in the tropical crime caper. These episodes are straight from series one, with Ben Miller as Detective Inspector Richard Poole. First he sees the dark side of showbiz when a comeback concert ends in a grisly death.

Later, Dwayne (Danny John-Jules) becomes embroiled in an investigation when an incriminating piece of evidence is found.
