NORTHUMBER­LAND Schools Football Associatio­n hosts the Under-11 Girls Danone Nations Seven-a-side Tournament at Newcastle University’s Longbenton site on Tuesday (4pm).

Two days later the Under-11 Mixed Danone Nations Tournament will kick off at the same venue and start time. ■■DURHAM Schools’ Under-16s kicked off their Northern Counties League camapign with a 4-3 victory over South Yorkshire.

Their goals came from Jack Leonard, Dylan Quinn, Youssef Hakamoui and Stephen Black. ■■DURHAM Schools host their Under-11 Danone Nations Small Schools County Round competitio­n on Wednesday at Pelton Community Primary School near Chester-le-Street.

The finalists are Easington CE Primary School (Peterlee PSFA), All Saints Catholic Primary School, Lanchester (Derwentsid­e PSFA), Browney Academy (Durham City PSFA) and St Bede’s RC Primary School, Sacriston (Chester-le-Street PSFA).

St Bede’s are the holders and they will be looking to retain their title. ■■NORTHUMBER­LAND stage their Under-11 Danone Nations Small Schools County Round on Wednesday, December 6 at Gosforth Academy(4pm). ■■ST Cuthbert’s High School Under-13s continued their impressive start to the season with a 6-1 victory over Benfield in the first round of the Curry City Cup.

They will entertain Walbottle or Kenton in round two. ■■NEWCASTLE Schools’ Under-11 Girls play their first ever game when they take on East Northumber­land in a friendly on Wednesday at Chantry, Morpeth (5pm).

Manager Michael Moran will choose from: Freya Stark (Walkergate), Ruby Kirkbride (St Alban’s), Ebony Yates (Walkergate), Anna Brent (St Teresa’s), Niamh Boothroyd (St Teresa’s), Chloe Paxton (Gosforth JMS), Sophie Merrey (Gosforth JMS), Becca Johnson (Cragside), Amelia Allan (St Alban’s), Abbie Armstrong (Gosforth JMS), Alessia Concas (OLSA) and Evie Purvis (English Martyr’s).
