League trio enjoy a Cup of cheer with semi spots
THREE of the league’s representatives are through to the semi-finals of the MFA Senior Sunday Cup.
Springbank Social won 2-0 at North Shields Billy Mill, Blakelaw Social defeated Ashington RAOB 2-1 and Blucher Blue Star were 6-2 victors at Barrasford.
In the Premier Division, Walker Jubilee triumphed 6-4 at Greenside, Joe Robson hitting a hat-trick and Johanthon Wright scoring twice.
Lee Chapman also notched three goals for St Peter’s Social in their 8-4 success at Daisy Hill East End - Sbu Salin netting twice twice for the Hill. Blakelaw Social prevailed 3-0 at Hillheads, Scott Ormston bagging a brace.
In B Division, Roof Top Bar overcame Lemington Labour 8-1 Ritchie Crawford, Karl LazzarrI and Robbie Bowman each scoring twice.
There were 5-3 verdicts for 42nd Street and Butchers Arms in C Division.
Jake McMullen struck twice for Street in the defeat of Wallsend Town Fosse and Darren Brown and Mario Suvurka grabbed two efforts each in Butchers’ home win over AD Victoriam.
The Alexandra came through 3-1 at Newcastle Jubilee in D Division.
Barking Dog defeated Grainger Park 3-2 and Scotswood Social were 4-3 home winners over West Allotment Social.
Jack Morton claimed all five counters for Balloon in their 5-1 result against West End Tigers.
MONKSEATON Hunting Lodge prevailed 4-0 at home to the Commissioners Quay in the Cramlington and District Sunday League’s Premier Division.
Scott Bambourgh, Liam Hall, Sam Hall and Ethan Rowan were the players on target.
Struggling to field a starting 11, Cramlington Brockwell Seam lost 12-0 at home to North Shields Formica.
Andy Middlemiss (4) and Sam Thompson (3) helped secure the points for the North Shields team.
