Dreaming of a weekend tournament

TODAY WE TALK TO GATESHEAD FC JUNIORS U-12S

-

What will you do with this year’s Wish money?

We are hoping to take part in a weekend tournament next year and any funds received would go towards the cost of that.

It would be a greatly appreciated help towards tournament funds and the boys would be involved in other fundraising activities too. Tell us about your group. We are a group of 15 boys and three coaches. We also have an abundance of helpful friendly parents who enjoy playing and watching Saturday and Sunday morning league football.

Five of the boys have been members for five years as well as the coach Colin.

The boys started as an under sevens team and have progressed really well. They are currently playing as an under 12s team. What kind of activities take place at your group? There are lots of activities that take place within our group - most based around football, fitness and team building. We also fundraise for the team too. Who is the longest serving member of your group?

We have had five boys and coach who have been involved for the entire five years that we’ve been in existence. Tell us about the biggest or best activity or event your group has organised.

The biggest and best activity is where recently the boys took part in a team building exercise.

It took place at Kirkley Hall and many of the boys were able to conquer the fears and be there for each other to complete tasks. What is your group’s proudest moment to date?

We have had lots of proud moments as a team - but I think winning their very first tournament after being runners up in a tournament the day before was the proudest. Why should someone join your group?

We are a friendly welcoming group who watch and encourage the boys to do what they love - and most importantly have fun! What makes you proud to be from the North-east using five words?

Friendly, loyal, supportive, welcoming community.
