Murder charge after death crash

A MAN has been charged with murder after a woman was killed in an alleged hit-and-run in North Tyneside.

Susan Fuller, 63, died following a collision with a grey Audi A3 outside her home in Howdon, Wallsend.

Police arrested two people after the incident and have now charged a man.

Sean Herman, 24, of Tillmouth Avenue, Seaton Delaval, has been charged with murder and two counts of assault occasionin­g actual bodily harm.

It follows the alleged hit-and-run on Coldstream Gardens at 10.20am on Friday.

Susan was treated by paramedics but was pronounced dead at the scene. Specialist officers continue to support her family.

A 29-year-old woman was also arrested following the incident but she has been released under investigat­ion.

Herman will now appear before North Tyneside Magistrate­s’ Court this morning.

Tributes have poured in for mumof-three Susan since Friday.

Brian Pickard, who has known Susan for more than 25 years, said: “I knew her very, very well. She was my best friend. She was a lovely lady without a doubt. She was just one of the best.”

Brian said Susan doted on her three sons.

Detectives are appealing for informatio­n and anyone who knows anything that may assist the investigat­ion should call police on 101 quoting log 278 27/10/17.
