Kian’s best wishes for his pal Simon
YOUNG KIAN SPENDS THE DAY WITH TV JUDGE
Reporter KIAN Musgrove has wished “special friend” Simon Cowell a speedy recovery as the music mogul was rushed to hospital just hours after spending the day with Kian at X Factor rehearsals.
The TV judge missed The X Factor’s first live show on Saturday night as he rested at home after falling down the stairs.
The day before the incident, Simon had spent time with young cancer sufferer Kian and his family, from Prudhoe, Northumberland, after inviting them down to London for an all-expenses-paid trip to watch rehearsals for the live show.
For a year, the Britain’s Got Talent judge helped pay for Kian and his mum Kat to fly to New York and undergo specialist care at a cancer hospital in the city. Kat, 29, said: “We were so devastated to hear about what happened to Simon the morning after we saw him. We hope our special friend gets well very soon.”
Simon, 58, was taken to hospital on Friday after he took the tumble in his London home, but was photographed flashing a “thumbs up” when he returned hours later.
The X Factor supremo first stepped in to help save Kian’s life in 2016 after being so touched by the story of his battle with neuroblastoma that he donated £25,000 and paid for flights to a specialist American clinic.
And as Kian enjoys some time at home before his final round of treatment in January, Simon invited him and his family to spend the day in London and attend rehearsals as his special guests.
Pictures from the day taken by Kat also show Kian playing with Simon’s son Eric, as well as meeting judge Louis Walsh. Kat said: “Before we left we got Simon and his family some gifts to say thank you.
“We got Simon an engraved pen saying ‘To Simon, love Kian x’ and we got a bear made for Eric with a recording of Kian’s voice.
“Simon thought it was amazing and Eric was so happy. He is still being so nice and generous to us all – Kian had an amazing day.”
Kian was first diagnosed with stage four neuroblastoma in October 2013.
After treatment to kill off the disease, the cancer came back in December 2015 and he started undergoing treatment at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre in New York. His family are continuing to raise funds to help towards his treatment, which is costing thousands of pounds.
