We’ve thrown it open to you, the supporters, and we want you to pick the players who got you off your feet in admiration over the years.
After much consideration a panel of club officials and Chronicle writers that included Newcastle’s historian, statistician and some of the writers who have watched United down the years came up with a shortlist of players – but we’ve left it open for you to nominate anyone that you think we may have missed out.
With United renowned for their attacking flair, we’ve opted for a 4-3-3 formation for this team and you’ve got just over a month to pick your team – which will be announced on December 9 before the Leicester game, which will be a celebration of the club’s 125 years.
So here is the shortlist of players.
