LOVING LA DOLCE VITA

ITALY has topped a poll of countries Brits are most interested in visiting, research by World Travel Market shows, with 60% of those questioned choosing the country ahead of the US (54%) and Greece (48%).

Italy seems to be benefitting from a move away from destinations that have been hit by economic turmoil such as Greece, the migrant crisis and terrorist attacks, according to the Top 100 City Destination Ranking WTM London Edition.

The country’s cities are also well represented in the report’s top 100 ranking for tourist arrivals, including Rome (12%), Milan (27%), Venice (38%) and Florence (44%).
