Write down your happy memories

-

IN response to Mr Johnson’s critique of my letter. Like many others, and I am in my 80s, I have no faith in any socialist government anywhere as I have never come across any socialist nation, during a lifetime of working around the world, that is successful for the people in it.

Our mayor has pulled the elderly down in North Tyneside. Everyone I speak to, ex-service or silver surfer, have said roll on the next election and we will show her the door.

She took away our baths on the spurious advice of unqualified people from a department that should be shut down, and the central government ought to stop any funding to this council until our bathing facilities are restored.

Any why will our councillors and mayor not take the living rate as advised by central government and live like the rest of us? I believe we are all a STANDING in the forest as softly Morning comes the wind plays in the Trees as brown leaves all fall as one Round and round they dance on falling To the ground as if within a trance For winter quickly comes The trees now standing bare to gently Fall asleep to dream soft dreams of Summer, another year complete, the sun Still shows his fingers between the Dark grey clouds sparkling golden sunbeams To let you know he is still around valuable part of life and having done our duties should be given the respect we are due.

Our Memorial Christmas Tree will The birds play in the tree tops, they Still sing a song or two, the blackbird And the robin within the morning dew Swirling soft grey mist still lies upon The ground to play within the trees For night is almost gone But I must be on my way to keep my Larder full for you know a little squirrel’s Life is such a busy one.
