Football club that is fun for everyone

TODAY WE TALK TO FELLING MAGPIES FC

-

What will you do with this year’s Wish money? The Wish token fund would help us buy muchneeded football strips for our players – with more than 30 teams it’s a tall order.

To receive a share of the fund would be amazing, everyone wearing their Felling strip with pride and feeling part of a team, not forgetting the smiles and excitement.

Tell us about your group.

Felling Magpies is a community football club which has been established for more than 25 years. All our committee, coaches and members are volunteers.

We take tots at the age of four through to senior teams aged 18 plus - including both male and female. We recently won FA Charter Standard Community Club of the year. We’re a great family friendly club.

What kind of activities take place at your group? Football training and matches.

Who is the longest serving member of your group? Ritchie Jones started the group in 1989.

Tell us about the biggest or best activity or event your group has organised. Felling Magpies have organised lots of events this year including our amazing Club Awards Ceremony held at Newcastle City Hall and our sponsored Stadium to Stadium Walk, followed by a huge fun day for everyone involved.

We have also organised football tournaments at our home ground over the summer holidays.

What is your group’s proudest moment to date? Felling Magpies was proud to be awarded The FA Charter Standard Community Club of the year, from Durham FA.

Why should someone join your group? Felling Magpies is a great family- friendly club and welcomes people of all ages and backgrounds.

We have staff and coaches with more than 25 years experience in fitness, training and football skills.

What makes you proud to be from the North East using five words? There’s no place like home.
