Tony Gelder, was unbeaten for Mount C in Division One as they overcame Tyneside A to go a point clear of Cramlington Reivers at the top.

Third-placed Old England Jacks failed to win for the first time this season when held to a draw by Mitford, whose Mick Bull won all of his sets.

The performance of the week was in Division Four, where a young Cramlington Falcons side held Ouston C to a draw.

Thirteen-year-old Archie Stokes won two sets, his twin bother Alfie and 11-year-old Oliver Ho one each and the twins claiming the doubles set.

However, a hat-trick from Jamie Milroy made sure Ouston shared the spoils - despite losing their 100 % record.

The Falcons stay three points ahead at the top - although Ouston have a game in hand. ■■THE Casuals’ Peter Smallcombe reached the final of the band three event at the Tipton Grand Prix before losing to Carl Baldry of Cornwall.

He had earlier made the semifinals of the band four competition, where he lost to Scotland’s Danny Bajwa.
