Club puts in Top display in last eight of Trophy

THE in-form Consett Top Club edged out Consett Scotch Arms to reach the semifinals of the Harkness Trophy.

Goals from Kallum Telfer and Dan Parker earned them the 2-1 victory, Dan Walker credited with Scotch’s reply.

They will meet South Moor Sports in the final four after goals from Jamie Leathard, Adam Norman and Jake Stafford saw them beat Oxhill Central 3-2.

For Oxhill, Callum Boakes and Scott Urwin netted.

A hat-trick from Dan Robinson and a single from Adrian Bailey earned Consett Demi a 4-2 success over Consett Cricketers Ex-Juniors.

Cricketers had Michael Robson on target and an own goal go in their favour.

Winlaton Highlander await them in the semis following their 5-2 victory over Blackhall Mill and Chopwell, with thanks to two efforts from Jack Moulding and strikes from Dean Hall, Simon Reed and Matty Grayson.

Winlaton Crown and Cannon removed Consett The Barn from the top of Division Two in fine fashion.

For they leapfrogge­d their rivals courtesy of a 9-2 drubbing, Paul Newton-Eddy and Marc Dodds both hitting trebles during the rout.

Dan Wright, James Innes and Gav James also registered, Rob McConnell and Liam Dempsey with Barn’s counters.

Lanchester Cricket Club defeated Consett Station WMC 5-3.
