Home comforts enjoyed as trio reach Cup’s semi-finals

THERE were wins for all three home clubs in the quarter-finals of the George Davison Cup as Amble Tavern, Blyth Town Sunday and East Chevington booked their semi-final places.

Amble won 4-2 at home to Bedlington Social Club United.

Both Baker boys Rob and Jake were on target with two each.

Goals for the Bedlington side came from Joe Bolam and Chris Hay.

Blyth Town saw off High Street for the secomd time this season in cup competitio­ns.

They triumphed 5-0 with counters from Daniel Carr, Rob Ridley, James Sinton, Kevin Long and Ryan McKee.

East Chevington triumphed 3-1 against Ashington Town Central.

Max Anderson (2) and Darren Smith scored for the home side, Michael Todd for the Central. In the only game in the Premier Division, nine goals were registered as Whitehouse took the points with a 6-3 victory against Cramlingto­n Green.

Jordan Lashley led the Whitehouse scoring with a hat-trick.

Further strikes came from Ryan Wilson, Robert Watt and Calum Greive.

Replies for the Green came from Jamie Summers (2) and Dylan Geddes.

In Division One,Block and Tackle recorded a 3-2 success at at home to Ashington Station Lounge.

Bradley Higgins (2) and Stephen Patterson netted for the home side, Chad Miller and John Leonard for the Lounge.

Another close game saw title favourites Newbiggin New Ship prevail 5-4 at home against Bedlington Sunday.

Efforts for the Ship came from McAuley Burt (2), Mason Armstrong, Karl Davison and Liam Halliday.

On target for the Bedlington side were David Kewn (2), Tommy Wilkinson and Michael Grieves.

Newsham Victory triumphed 4-0 at home against Ashington Sporting Club.

Finiishes for the Vic came courtesy of David Lillico, Daniel James, Jimmy Harrison and Curtis Miller.
