THERE were 26 series and 2,400 episodes of this classic cop drama – sometimes we just can’t believe it’s gone, sob.

There were some random guest stars too – Paul O’Grady, Russell Brand, Emma Bunton, Hugh Laurie and Sean Bean to name a few.

So if you have an hour, tune in and remind yourself why you loved it so much. In this instalment, a man will drown unless Santini (Michael Higgs, pictured with WPC Rosie Fox played by Caroline Catz, long before her Doc Martin days) acts fast.

THE TWO RONNIES: CHRISTMAS 1982 Yesterday, 5pm

DECEMBER is almost upon us, so it’s time to start embracing the Christmas specials whether you like it or not. Ease in gently with this classic, courtesy of Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Corbett, above. If anyone knew how to make us laugh it was these two. This festive medley of sketches and jokes from 1982, features Sid and George and the Pet Buffalo, Dr Spalding the Memory Doctor and guest stars David Essex.

SURVIVING ALCATRAZ Yesterday, 8pm

IN 1962, bank robbers Frank Morris and Clarence and John Anglin, made a raft from patched-up raincoats and launched it into the freezing waters of San Francisco Bay that surrounds Alcatraz Prison, above. The men vanished, leaving a cold case that has mystified law enforcemen­t for more than 50 years. Could they have survived the icy waters? Hear what experts believe in this fascinatin­g doc.

SWIPE RIGHT FOR MURDER Really, 10pm

THIS true crime documentar­y series looks at the dangers of meeting people online. This episode examines the US case of young mum Nicole White, who went missing after a date with Jonathan Harris. All went well, but a couple of weeks later, Nicole never made it home after an evening out together. Hear from Nicole’s family and officers, including Detective John Delgado, above who explains how Harris was brought to justice.
