Park’s Sir Bob tribute is on firm Foundation

-

KINGSTON Park Community Football Club paid tribute to a Toon legend as it unveiled its latest team strip.

The strip carries the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation logo, reflecting the Newcastle club’s support for the Foundation and the work it does to raise money to find more effective ways to detect and treat cancer.

Club secretary Kevin Richardson said: “We have committed to long-term sponsorship of the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation both on and off the field.

“The charity is close to the hearts and minds of those involved with the club as one our young players has been diagnosed with leukaemia.

“We want to raise as much money as we can to help fight cancer and the families affected by it.”

The club will carry the Foundation’s logo on their new home strip for the next three seasons.

It will be worn by all 14 teams who play in the Pin Point Recruitment Junior League, the North East Youth Development League and the Tynedale League.

Pauline Buglass from the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation, said: “We are very grateful to everyone at Kingston Park CAFC for their support.

“Sir Bobby was always touched to receive help for his Foundation from within football and would have loved to see these young players with our charity logo on their shirts.

“We wish the club all the very best this season and hope the players enjoy playing in their new strips.”

Sir Bobby Robson launched his Foundation in 2008 and it has gone on to raise more than £11 million to find more effective ways to detect and treat cancer.

Off the field, Kingston Park CAFC is planning a number of fundraising events in aid of the Foundation.
