Mark’s Don well with a Star display

BLUE Star closed the gap on Premier Division leaders Belle Vue with a 6-3 win against Birtley RAOB.

Mark Doninger smashed a hat-trick, Ricky Fenwick, Steve Mulholland and Lee Scroggins also netting.

Scoring for Birtley were Logan Powell, Callum Turnbull and Adam Berry.

Whickham Coachman lost ground on the leaders when they crashed 4-1 at Leam Lane WMC.

The Coachies took the lead, but Joe Mole then scored twice for Leam club.

A Tony Falconer strike and a bullet header from Eddie Moore wrapped up the points.

Fiddlers Three moved up to fourth with a 5-1 victory over Westwood.

Dean Kirtley and Lee Turnbull both bagged a brace with Liam Barnett also on target for the Fiddlers.

Stormont Main took the points in a seven-goal clash at Crawcrook Albion.

Liam Barker, Dan Murphy and Rhys Harbottle notched for the hosts.

However, a Jordan McClarence hat-trick and a Sean Pitt finish saw the Main men run out 4-3 winners.

Carl Piecha hit a treble for Winlaton West End in their 6-2 triumph over Highwayman.

Alan Heath, Ryan Latimer and Scott Palmer were also on target for West End.

Lee Peacock and Andrew Peacock replied for the visitors.

In Division One, Gateshead Three Tuns returned to winning ways with a 4-2 success at Nursery House.

David Reay claimed both goals for Nursery but The Tuns took the points with efforts from James Ward, Jak Charleswor­th, Chris Kelly and Alan Milne.

Leam Lane Rangers prevailed 4-2 against The Eagle thanks to two finishes from Michael Mains and one each from Michael Glendon and Anthony Huddart.

Registerin­g for The Eagle were Gary Lindsay and Mark Burns.

Allerdene were the day’s top scorers when they beat Inter XI 12-2. Nathan Morley struck five times, Martin Summersatt hit four, Kieran McPherson two and Simon McKenry one - Lachlan Skene and Jack Parkinson with Inter’s consolatio­ns.
