Arms Taylor-made for success thanks to hat-tricks

HAT-TRICKS from Jack Johnson and Derek Lowson and a further two goals from Mario Suvurt enabled Butchers Arms to beat High Howdon Social 8-4 and reach the semi-finals of the Charlie Taylor Cup.

They will be joined there by Stags Head - 7-1 winners at AD Victoriam with Shane Jones grabbing four goals and Mark Tweddle a hat-trick.

Trent House defeated Wallsend Town Fosse 3-1, Alan Stewart scoring twice, and Dan Fullen also bagged a brace for Marlboroug­h Social in their 5-2 win at West Allotmemt Social.

In the Harry Oxley Cup Westacres defeated Wallsend Labour 4-2 Derek Graham on the mark with two counters - and Heaton Meadowfiel­d triumphed 8-1 at Fawdon Park.

In the Bob Younger Associatio­n Cup, St Peter’s Social won 3-1 at Blucher Blue Star - Matty Hayton nabbing two goals - and Walker Jubilee defeated Springbnk Social 3-2.

In The Premier Division, Tom Bainbridge celebrated a hat-trick for Westfield Social in their 6-2 success over Hillheads.

In B Division, David Geling also hit three and Adrian Wood a double for Benwell Sports in their 7- 1 defeat of Lemington Labour and Roof Top Bar overcame Walkergate Athletic 5-1 Karl Lazzari with four goals.

In the only game in C Division, West Denton Social defeated The Alexandra 3-0 - Matty Allan with a double.

In D Division, Grainger Park prevailed 2-1 at home to Balloon and Scotswood Social triumphed 4-3 at West End Tigers - Andrew Thompson and Luefur Karim both scoring twice. ■■CONSETT and District Sunday League Division Three leaders High Handenhold stretched their unbeaten record to 10 games with a 7-1 victory over Shotley Cricketers.

Jon Swift scored a hat-trick and Tom Illingwort­h and Dan Dobson both bagged braces.
