CALLS FOR EX-FOOTBALL STAR TO QUIT SHOW AFTER ARGUMENT

People need to eat. If he doesn’t like my opinion, he doesn’t like it, but I have to say what I feel Dennis Wise

FORMER Newcastle United director Dennis Wise has sparked a ‘bullying’ row on I’m a Celebrity after an argument with television presenter Iain Lee.

Some viewers are calling for the exfootballer to be kicked out of the Jungle following the row, which left the host “humiliated”.

The argument broke out when campmates were deciding who should take on the day’s Bushtucker trial.

After Lee volunteered, Wise said he had a “problem” with him taking on the latest Bushtucker trial, and an “issue” with his participation after his previous failures.

He said: “My only problem, and I’ll be honest with you, Iain, is that you’ve said ‘Get me out of here’ twice and what I don’t want to do is we have no dinner and so….”

Lee interrupted and said: “Ok but I also got 11 stars on one.”

Wise said: “I get that but you’ve also said ‘Get me out of here’ twice. Out of the three you’ve done you failed…”

Correcting him, Lee said: “No, I failed one of them, the other was a challenge.”

“If you come back with nothing everyone will be upset,” said Wise.

“I get it, you don’t want me to do it, I withdraw my offer. Does that mean I can do no trials for the rest of the run, then? Is that what you’re saying, because that feels a little bit unfair,” said Lee.

Wise said: “Well, Iain, the problem is you’ve gone a couple of times and you’ve come back with nothing, so that causes me a slight issue.”

Lee said “Well I won’t do any more trials then, but it just feels a bit….”.

Refusing to let Lee continue, Wise snapped: “Iain, Iain, you don’t need to be all like that.” Revealing how the situation really made him feel in the Bush Telegraph, Lee said “I feel significantly more confident than I did the other day so I was quite happy to stand my ground a bit. “It did feel a bit humiliating having my list of failures kind of recited back to me.” Wise said in the Telegraph: “People need to eat and people are hungry. “If he doesn’t like my opinion, he doesn’t like it, but I have to say what I feel.” The pair were still arguing until Stanley Johnson interrupted them, with Lee ruling himself out and Wise accusing him of being “stroppy”. “Nothing against you, Iain,” continued Wise. Lee replied: “Thanks, none taken.” Continuing to argue, Wise said: “It’s just I’m allowed to say my piece like everyone else”. Former Wimbledon and Chelsea midfielder Wise was not popular with the Toon Army during his stint at St James’ Park. After retiring from playing, Wise served as executive director of football at Newcastle United between 2008 and 2009. The Londoner claimed he was unpopular with United fans as he hails from south of Watford Gap. In 2010, Wise told Football Focus he thought he was unfairly blamed for a lot of mishaps which he says he had nothing to do with.
