Government won’t listen

-

EVERYONE is complaining about the shocking experiences people are having in the process of universal credit.

People are telling the government what is happening but the government is not listening.

If one of the MPs put themselves in those people’s shoes and experienced it for themselves everyone would hear them – they would be shouting from the rooftops.

Some time ago, one of the MPs tried to live on benefits and I am sure they couldn’t see it through for the length of time they had to do it.

I think it was two or three days and they just couldn’t do it, yet every day people have to live on that.

The government keep saying it is a good thing for people to get into work. People are trying to help themselves but when they have a problem they send you to someone.

I was sent from one person to another and am still no further on. You have to have family or someone to help you if you don’t have a computer. People have no computer, no family to help them, so what do you do? They say everything is online but what about people who are not, because people are on a low income and can’t afford to eat or heat their homes and then that is another setback if you are not online.

It is a worrying time for people – they are worried about money for rent, food, bills.

People get sanctioned for the slightest thing – they strip your money straight away. Some people are ill in hospital and families have tried phoning to let them know but couldn’t get through to speak to someone.

They never think there could be a good explanation for not turning up. ANGRY CHRONICLE READER
