Victory is no tall order as Robinson lands Tyne, Tees and Wear belt to end year on real Hi note

SWALWELL’S Steven ‘Hi Tower’ Robinson won the Elite Tyne, Tees and Wear Associatio­n belt on Boldon’s home show.

Robinson took a unanimous decision over Ian Askew from North Star ABC in Sunderland.

Swalwell’s coach Mark Clauzel said: “The bout was a cracking contest and both lads did themselves proud.

“I’m sure a return would be warmly welcomed again on any show in the region.

“We are so proud of Steven – so far he has had a cracking season, winning silver in the East Midlands Boxcup, then bronze in the National Developmen­t Championsh­ips and finishing 2017 on a high with this title.

“Steven will continue to train over the Christmas period and box again in January. We are going to enter him into the elite open class Senior ABAs in April next year.” THE Jack Fairbairn Memorial Trophy for Best Druridge Bay Boxer was won by Tyler Henshall on his club’s show at the Old Storehouse in Amble.

Best Female Boxer went to Shannon Moore, with Best Male Boxer being Caleb Hall.
