ONLY FOOLS AND HORSE Christmas GOLD, 6.40pm

AS THE GOLD channel continues to churn out classic festive episodes, tune in for this cracking instalment from Del Boy (David Jason) and Rodney (Nicholas Lyndhurst). Bored with spending Christmas at home, and slightly anxious as they wait for Grandad’s traditional poisoned Christmas dinner, they decide to don their party clothes and head off to a trendy club. Well, we say trendy, but it’s called the Monte Carlo, so make of that what you will.

DEATH IN PARADISE Drama, 8pm

MORE head scratching from the seemingly dopey detective Humphrey (Kris Marshall, right). Although, despite appearances, he always cracks the case in the end. This time, a woman kills herself at a retirement home. It looks like an overdose, but too many clues suggest murder. There’s relationship trouble, too, when Humphrey’s estranged wife Sally (Morven Christie) turns up and wants to give things another go.

DR CHRISTIAN WILL SEE YOU NOW W, 9pm

AS EVER, make sure you’ve eaten your dinner before tuning in to this one. There’s another string of yucky ailments for Dr Christian, pictured, and his team to inspect. Abbie, 16, has a fear of vomiting, a phobia so severe that it has left her mostly house-bound. Meanwhile, Nathan has a painful skin condition covering his face and scalp that is having a big impact on his self esteem and his family life.

DAVE GORMAN MODERN LIFE IS GOODISH Dave, 10pm

A PHYSICALLY Large Head. That is the slightly bizarre title of this latest offering from the comedian, pictured, who has more musings on life. One can only presume he is referring to his own head, as he embarks on a rant about society’s obsession with image. He goes through some old photos and investiges how far people will go for fame. Of course, we know the answer – some will do anything for fame.
