RAISING MONEY FOR OTHER CHILDREN

Reporter BRAVE Bradley Lowery’s legacy lives on almost six months after the inspirational youngster’s death.

The Bradley Lowery Foundation raises money for cancer treatment unavailable on the NHS to help others like Bradley find new and alternative ways to fight cancer.

Two-year-old Isla Caton is one of these brave children, suffering from neuroblastoma - the same form of rare cancer which cut short Bradley’s life.

She was diagnosed in March, and the disease has already spread to her bones and bone marrow.

Only around 100 children in the UK get the disease each year and the best way to treat it, immunotherapy, which involves injecting antibodies, is not offered on the NHS.

A JustGiving page set-up to support Isla reads: “We are trying to raise £192,000.00 to get her to USA as soon as she finishes treatment to receive the Bivalent vaccine in Memorial Sloan Kettering cancer hospital in New York, that can prevent her neuroblastoma returning,

“Isla is the bravest two-year-old little girl we have ever met and she has a long way to go through her treatment, but if you can spare even £1.00 towards her treatment it will give Isla an extra chance of fighting this terrible disease.”

But time is running out to support Isla, and so far approximately 40% of the total needed has been raised.

The Bradley Lowery Foundation has moved to raise awareness of Isla’s plight in a moving Facebook post, and pledged to grant £25,000 once the remaining total is reached.

Mum Gemma has emotionally urged people to donate on social media, stating it would be exactly what Bradley would have wanted for Christmas.

She wrote: “I love this photo of Brad, he really did love his football.

“The nation got behind my little boy and the feeling was amazing.

“This is Bradley’s first Christmas being an angel and I know what present he would want from everyone. He would want Isla to get the funds for her treatment.

“Can you help me give Bradley this present? for him to give Isla the gift of life.
