Tigers have roaring time together

TODAY WE TALK TO PRUDHOE TIGERS U13S FOOTBALL CLUB

-

What will you do with this year’s Wish money?

If we are able to raise money through the Wish fund then the team requires winter clothing such as jackets and hats for the cold training nights. The Wish fund is an excellent way for supporting local groups.

To receive a share of the fund would help the team enormously.

The main beneficiaries are the players themselves.

Tell us about your group.

Prudhoe Tigers was formed four years ago and currently has 17 players.

Over the years it has gone from strength to strength – and last season gained victory by winning the league title.

The team trains once a week and is coached by Tommy Clasper.

The team currently plays in a Gateshead Division.

What kind of activities take place at your group?

In the main this is obviously football. However we also take part in an array of training activities and fundraise for the team.

Who is the longest serving member of your group?

We have quite a few long-standing members and a few of the lads have been in from when the team first formed four years ago.

Tell us about the biggest or best activity or event your group has organised.

The team has organised sponsored walks in the past to raise funding for the team.

What is your group’s proudest moment to date?

We have so many proud moments but winning the league title last season was probably the most memorable.

Why should someone join your group?

There are lots of reasons to join us. It’s an excellent team with good camaraderie amongst the players.

What makes you proud to be from the North-east using five words?

The good old community spirit.
