JANUARY BEST FOR BARGAINS
JANUARY is the cheapest month of the year to enjoy a city break according to the latest research. Holidaymakers can save as much as 73% versus going away in more popular months.
Holiday comparison website, TravelSupermarket.com says the average cost per night of a city break to Seville in southern Spain is £41.25 in January, a difference of 73% vs visiting the city in September where the average cost is £89 per night. And it’s a similar story across a range of popular city break destinations. Bavarian capital, Munich offers holidaymakers an average saving of 65% in January, vs the more popular month of September (£49.41 vs £96.56).
The capital of Latvia, Riga reveals a difference of 64% between January and August (£35.56 vs 68.90), while Hamburg, Germany costs an average of £41.66 per night in January vs £74.76 in May (57% difference).
Poland’s capital, Warsaw costs on average £30.83 per night in January vs £55.07 in April (a difference of 56%) with prices in Barcelona, Spain revealing a difference of 53%, January vs August (£42.73 vs £73.67).
