EMMERDALE ITV, 7pm

IT has been a devastating week for the Whites, after Lachlan, overcome by rage, lunged for the steering wheel of Chrissie’s car and swerved them into the path of a lorry.

Now Chrissie and Lawrence are dead, Rebecca is lying in an induced coma, and Lachlan, right, who got away nearly scot free with just a punctured lung, is sitting vigil. Or rather, quizzing the nurse about turning off Rebecca’s life support machine. Robert overhears him, but will he confront him?

EASTENDERS BBC1, 8pm

OH Ian Beale has always been a weaselly, snivelling little fellow hasn’t he – never happier than when someone else is down on their luck.

And so he is delighted to hear from Arshad that Masood’s tales of business glory are in fact completely fictitious, and he’s been living in a clapped out ice cream van instead.

Meanwhile, Karen is up against a familiar face for the launderette job. And Whit knows just who to confront when she finds a used pregnancy test, above.

CORONATION STREET ITV, 7.30pm and 8.30pm

WEDDING bells toll for Chesney and Sinead, inset, but in the soaps those bells often toll for trouble too.

Chesney is a bag of nerves, he’s got a bad feeling about this. And so he should – Carla is elsewhere begging Daniel to pull a ‘Graduate’ moment and call a halt to the wedding.

As the guests gather at the register office, the tension mounts. Will Daniel make a move?

Will Sinead ignore her doubts? Meanwhile, Eileen heads to the prison to quiz Anna.
