Healey wraps up the points against Hope

SAINT Charles RC Church consolidat­ed top spot in Division One with a 7-2 win at Hope Church Sunderland.

Steven Langstaff fired Saint Charles ahead and doubled the advantage four minutes later.

A double from Jonny Wilson had Saints 4-0 ahead after just 30 minutes.

A Phil Moore cross was deflected home for an own goal after the hour and three minutes later Moore did score for 6-0.

A goal direct from a free-kick by substituit­e Cal Downey put Hope Church on the scoresheet and fellow replacemen­t James Alderson also netted for 6-2.

David Healey wrapped up the scoring in the 88th minute.

Morpeth Mighty Oaks travelled to Stockton Salvation Army and James Moore gave Morpeth the lead after half an hour with the only goal in the first half.

Six counters then followed in the second half as first Austin Laidler equalised and then Callum Cooke fired Salvation Army in front.

Strikes from Conor McCabe and Matty Wilcox put Morpeth back in front at 3-2.

Mark Banks equalised in the 85th minute - but in the last few seconds Ashley Smith notched to give Salvation Army a 4-3 verdict.

The Premier Division has a new leader - Stockton Churches Portrack, who overcame North Shields Christians 6-3.

Conor Higgins opened the scoring for the Christians, Andrew Brown equalising after 20 minutes.

Marc Brown’s finish put Stockton in front at 2-1 and a double for Charlie Inman before and after the hour increased the advantage to 4-1.

An own goal and a Charlie Iverson effort took the Teessiders to 6-1 on the 70-minute mark.

Higgins nabbed his second and Jordan Hinds netted in the 88th minute to round off the scoring. A counter in the 55th minute from Gary Charlton was enough for Jesmond Parish Church to see off visitors Consett Saint Patricks 1-0 and move up three places to fourth.

IN the first round of the Fellowship League Cup, Axoim defeated YAV SIFF 7-2 and next face Heaton Saints.

Geoff Holt, Matthew Jones, Evan Bousfield, Danny Smith (3) and Youiseff Oummzil were on target for Axoim.

City of Gold Walker were 6-2 victors against Saint Johns Snod’s Edge thanks to strikes from Temi Zaccheary, Eddison Perekosifa (2), Sam Olaleye, Emmanuel Amwamaddin­g and Eddisoim Eyo.
