Music fans in store for a Thriller

CAN YOU FEEL IT? MJ SHOW HEADING TO REGION

MICHAEL Jackson fans are invited to celebrated his career in a thrilling night at Sunderland Empire.

The theatre is to host five performanc­es of acclaimed show Thriller Live which will be heading north direct from London’s West End in February.

The show has been running now for 10 years and has clocked up six of those in London’s theatre-land where it has entered the West End record books by becoming the longest-running show in the Lyric Theatre’s 125-year history.

In the star role over that time has been American talent Britt Quentin who has now played Michael Jackson in 2,320 performanc­es.

He will be at the helm in Sunderland too when the show stops off for its February 15-17 run.

The lead singer, who is also resident director of the West End show and the tour, is inviting audiences to join him on a visual and audio journey through Jackson’s 45 years in showbusine­ss.

Fans can expect more than two hours of non-stop hits from pop to rock and soul to disco as the show pays homage to the legendary live performanc­es and innovative dance moves of the late star described as the world’s greatest entertaine­r.

With Britt backed by a talented cast and band, these are set to include favourites I Want You Back, ABC, Can You Feel It, Off The Wall, The Way You Make Me Feel, Smooth Criminal and Beat It.

And fans can also sing along to the likes of Billie Jean, Dirty Diana, Bad, Rock With You, They Don’t Care About Us, Dangerous and title track Thriller.

The show will run at the Empire at 7.30pm on the Thursday night, at 5pm and 8.30pm on the Friday then at 4pm and 8pm on the Saturday.
